Animal Sounds lesson
This month many of my kindergarten lessons use animal sounds to teach the words 'listen' and 'hear'. After the usual intro song to start the lesson I will use the Super Simple Songs "What Do You Hear" song from their animals CD. Before singing I refresh the kids memories of the names of animals they will hear. In this song it's dog, cat, duck, rooster, pig and elephant. After that I use the Farm Sounds app by TantrumApps the first week and their Zoo Sounds app the following week. At first I will not let them see the pictures and only play the sounds asking them to "Listen" and then "What do you hear?". For the younger kids, 3 and 4 years old, they can answer with just the animal's name. for the older kids 5 and 6 years old and first and second graders, I have them answer with "I hear a cow." Many of the animals in the apps have been covered before in previous lessons and the kids general enjoy hearing the animal sounds. New animals I will either skip or introduce depending on time and kids' interest. By the end of the lesson most children will quiet down and listen carefully when I say 'listen'.
Super Simple Songs "What Do You Hear"を教えて歌います。
